Requesting an External Module
The project point person is the eligible project staff to request an external module.
The external modules listed above are requested via the process described below, under Module Activation. Please follow up on your activation request with an email to the REDCap Team at redcap@ohsu.edu and include details about what you are trying to accomplish by using the external module.
To request a module that's not listed on this page, for example a module that you used at another institution, learned about from another user, or discovered by searching the internet, please send an email inquiry to the REDCap Team at redcap@ohsu.edu and include 1) the module name, 2) the project for which you want to use the module, 3) your experience, if any, using the module, and 4) what you want to accomplish by using the module. For these modules, there are additional charges to cover the REDCap Team's efforts to evaluate and validate the module for use in OHSU's REDCap.
For all module requests, we'll gather follow up information either over email or via a video conference meeting for the following purposes
- Ensuring the module will accomplish it's intended purpose and that based on the set up of the project there aren't any barriers to using the module
- Reviewing the terms of use
- Assess if training and support needs for the project point person setting up the module
We'll create an estimate and send it to the project point person and PI. Billing information, as described in the estimate email, will be required for the REDCap Team to move forward with installing the module.

External Module Terms of Use
External modules are third party software packages developed by REDCap community members for the purpose of extending REDCap's native functionality, or enhancing REDCap's behavior or appearance. These modules are NOT part of the core REDCap application and are NOT supported by the REDCap development team at Vanderbilt or the OHSU REDCap Team to fix bugs or to ensure they are compatible with REDCap upgrades. Community member authors of external modules are encouraged but NOT required to provide support for the modules they develop.
In general, at OHSU, we make available for use modules that 1) have support from their authors, and 2) are "nice to have" but are not critical for a project's operations, meaning if the module were to fail, the study team would be able to carry out their study activities using native REDCap functionality or carry our these activities without with the functionality the module added to their REDCap project.
In the event a module stops working, the OHSU REDCap Team will report the issue to the module's author, however the OHSU REDCap Team cannot ensure an author will address the issue and restore functionality to the module. The study teams assumes this risk.
