Training projects can be useful tools for study teams to onboard and train new team member on how to use their project without the risking the data quality issues that result from creating test records in their production project.

A training project is a copy of production project, and as such it is a snapshot of the production project at the time the copy is requested. Over time, the training project will drift out of sync with changes made to the production project. For this reason, training projects expire after 1 year.

How to Request a Training Project

  • The project point person requests a copy of their production project.
  • The point person appends **TRAINING** onto the end of the project title in the copy request.
  • All training project requests are reviewed and approved by the REDCap Team.

Terms of Use

  • No real study data is to be stored in the training project.

  • The training project is NOT approved for testing changes to the production project.

  • The study team is responsible for updating the training project to reflect any changes they make to their production project.

  • Training projects expire 1 year from the date they are created.

  • The study team may request a new training project when the old one expires.
