On this page, we our discussing activities involved in testing the survey itself, separate from testing how the survey link is shared with a participant. 

Once you enable a form to be a survey, it's critical to test the form as a survey. This is the only way to understand how the Survey Settings you configured have been applied to the form to give it survey powers, and to assess the survey experience from the participant's point of view.

Testing Stipulation: Note, that the method we've describe below is not the method you will use to share the survey link with a participant, i.e. distribute the survey.

Testing Steps

  1. Add a new record.
  2. Navigate to the survey/form you want to test.
  3. Open the form and click Save and Stay.
  4. From the Survey Options drop-down at the top right of the form, select the Open Survey option.

Testing Practices

  • Test on different devices, such as a tablet, a laptop, a phone and a desktop.
  • Test in different browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
  • Test each individual survey separately and distinct from testing other survey features, such as the Queue or sending invitations.
